Climate Change Rules on the Horizon
The SEC has scheduled a meeting on March 21, 2022 at which it will, according to the posted agenda, “consider whether to propose amendments that would enhance and standardize registrants’ climate-related disclosures for investors.” SEC registrants and many practitioners have been anticipating a proposal regarding climate rules, particularly given the Commission’s recent statements concerning climate disclosure initiatives.
