NEW YORK – The M&A Advisor, a publication founded to offer insights and intelligence on mergers and acquisitions, has honored Nelson Mullins as the winner of the Energy Deal of the Year in their 13th edition of the Annual International M&A Awards.
Winners will be honored at a gala in New York City on September 21, 2022.
A Nelson Mullins deal team led by New York Partner George Pavlenishvili, Franco Furmanski, Mike Bradshaw and Carlos Loumiet, represented Canacol Energy Ltd., a Canadian public company and the largest independent natural gas producer in Colombia, as issuer’s international counsel, in connection with its private offering of $500 million 5.75% Senior Notes due 2028 pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S of the Securities Act of 1933.
The transaction allowed Canacol to refinance its previous senior notes under significantly better terms and will continue to facilitate Canacol’s growth and expansion in Colombia, which is its primary market.
“We are thrilled to have been selected for this coveted award and are very much looking forward to celebrating with the other winners at the gala to be held in New York City later this year,” said George Pavlenishvili.
According to The M&A Advisor, an independent judging panel of industry experts evaluated nominations representing more than 250 companies from across the world, with deals valued between $10 million to tens of billions. See the list of winners.
