D Magazine
Dallas-area publication D Magazine recently named Nelson Mullins senior associate Brent Buyse as a "Best Lawyer Under 40" for the third consecutive year.
Buyse, who works out of both the firm's Dallas North and Uptown offices, was one of the peer-nominated attorneys in Texas named to the list. All candidates must be under the age of 40 before the end of the 2025 calendar year and have practiced law for a minimum of five years.
Passionate about the law, Buyse embraces personal relationships with clients in his practice, which focuses on complex commercial litigation in a variety of industries, practicing across the country wherever needed. He continuously seeks the most effective legal strategies and to create bespoke approaches to increasingly novel and unique legal issues. He represents corporations in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, creditors’ rights and loan disputes, large-scale data network implementations, and data breach events where millions of dollars were at stake.
A 2016 law school graduate, Buyse has already compiled an impressive resume, being named to the D Magazine list in both 2024 and 2023.
He has obtained complete dismissals for claims involving breach of contract, False Claims Act, Program Fraud Civil Remedies Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Unfair Debt Collection Act, as well as a variety of other claims. Buyse is also well versed in defending claims involving violations of the Texas Business Organizations Code, Texas Business and Commerce Code, and Texas Property Code. He has successfully argued numerous dispositive motions and defended claims to verdict at trial, in arbitration, and at the court of appeals.
