Nashville Attorneys to Speak at the 131st Tennessee Bankers Association Annual Meeting

Within a decade there has been a shift in the relationship between FinTechs and banks. No longer was FinTech building the back end of banking, it was now leading the pursuit of customers and becoming the face of financial services.

Nashville partner Mark Miller and of counsel Kevin Tran discussed the relationship between FinTech and banks at the 131st Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) Annual Meeting. Their presentation "Banks Partnering with FinTech" touched on the advantageous partnership between FinTechs and banks and how working together can provide better services to customers.

Miller has extensive experience in financial institution regulation, the acquisition and sale of financial institutions and other entities, formation of de novo community banks, and corporate governance and emerging company issues. He regularly represents clients before the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, state banking agencies, including the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Tran assists clients in matters related to financial regulatory, FinTech, corporate and securities issues. He gained experience at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., where he was a Financial Policy Analyst in the Capital and Regulatory Policy group in the Division of Supervision and Regulation. He has developed regulations and guidance affecting banks and bank holding companies of all sizes, and has helped financial institutions and industry trade groups with regulatory interpretations.
