Nelson Mullins’ environmental attorneys provide clients with effective and creative counseling and issue response, no matter what the environmental challenge

Our attorneys have represented environmental clients in matters involving major federal and state environmental programs. Our team has hundreds of years of collective experience spanning the breadth of environmental programs. We have participated in evaluation of environmental issues impacting business and real estate transactions, identifying potential environmental liabilities, and developing creative approaches to address and allocate responsibility for these items.

Our attorneys work hand in hand with our clients to make informed decisions before problems arise

We partner with clients to evaluate environmental policy, statutes, and regulations, and develop strategic plans for addressing current, proposed and anticipated future environmental requirements, including undertaking challenges to new regulations when necessary. We have deep experience pursuing, obtaining, and defending complex environmental permits required for addressing air, water, and waste management for industrial clients.

We work with our clients in responding to federal and state environmental compliance investigations, response and effective resolution of those matters

We have resolved significant disputes with state and federal agencies including applicability determinations and alleged high priority violations of New Source Review, NESHAP, RCRA, Brownfield, and wetlands rules. We also respond to complex investigations, such as 104 and 114 information requests and rely on our creativity and strategic mindset to resolve disputed matters without litigation.
