Born and raised less than a 15-minute drive from the Firm’s Houston office, Nathan’s perspective on life and work is deeply rooted in watching his hometown evolve from a boom-and-bust, single-industry town into the best city in America in which to live, work, and do business. After earning his B.A. in economics at Georgetown and playing fullback for the Hoyas’ NCAA DI football team, Nathan was eager to get back to where the action is. After concentrating his legal studies and first year of his practice on transactional law (chiefly mergers and acquisitions and capital markets work), Nathan found that a detailed understanding of markets and how business works is rare among litigators. That realization, combined with a deep-seated love of advocating on behalf of clients with a mind to win, is what ultimately led him to his litigation practice.

Nathan represents enterprises and individuals in litigation across a broad range of commercial contexts and industries. His recent experience includes defending a global manufacturer in a high-stakes product liability case involving eight-figure exposure, guiding a technology company through complex proceedings before a state environmental authority, and representing a consortium of healthcare providers in a federal audit dispute. He has represented international clients in cross-border commercial lawsuits and obtained a more-than-favorable seven-figure settlement, advised on settlement strategy in multi-party business litigation, and defended private and public corporations and their directors in high-stakes shareholder litigation and disputes over corporate governance. In numerous cases before both state and federal courts, Nathan has obtained voluntary and involuntary dismissals on the strength of a well-crafted dispositive motion, getting the client out of the case without a dime of settlement money changing hands. Whether defending a homeowner from his overzealous HOA or bringing a complex business tort and contract action on behalf of an international energy concern, Nathan appreciates that in litigation, the stakes are always high. He takes pride in every instance that he is privileged to serve as trusted counsel and earns that trust daily by delivering the highest standard of service and attention.
