Alicia is an experienced litigator who handles complex cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country. She routinely defends manufacturers, hospitals, retailers, and other corporate clients in a variety of litigation matters that span industries and pose substantial financial and reputational risk to their businesses. She has extensive experience managing numerous local and national trial teams and also manages substantial caseloads through every phase of the litigation process. 

While Alicia maintains a broad litigation practice, her areas of focus include products liability and mass tort litigation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, negligence, toxic tort, and multi-district litigation. She also has experience representing businesses in commercial disputes, including insurance coverage litigation and insurance-related disputes, as well as premises liability matters.

Experience 

  • Has trial and pre-trial experience, including the development of effective trial themes; complex medical, scientific, and technical defenses; corporate defenses; and case evaluation and resolution strategies
  • Regularly represents product manufacturers in toxic tort litigation at both the local and national levels 
  • Manages and serves as chief counsel for thousands of asbestos-related personal injury and wrongful death cases pending in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia
  • Obtained summary judgment for drug manufacturer on all claims in a products liability action involving off-label use of product
  • Obtained summary judgment for Fortune 100 manufacturer on all claims in a toxic tort products liability suit on grounds of insufficiency of expert testimony
  • Experience with civil litigation trials, arbitrations, mediations, and appeals
