TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 2, 2020) – The Tallahassee Democrat has named Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP Partner Ginger Barry Boyd as an honoree in its 2020 class of 25 Women You Need to Know. Women selected for this honor represent the best of Tallahassee and the region, dedicating their time to improving the community in which they live and work while achieving success in their careers.
Boyd will be recognized in an upcoming issue of the Democrat in March and at a reception in April. She was nominated by colleague and firm partner Melissa VanSickle, who is a previous recipient of this honor.
“As a previous honoree, I can tell you first hand Ginger exemplifies the best of our community and our firm,” wrote VanSickle. “Not only is she a professional worth knowing because of what she has done and the impact she has had on so many lives – including my own – but also because of what she will be doing in the years to come.”
From the very early years of her career, Boyd has held leadership positions with community and professional organizations such as the Tallahassee Bar Association, Tallahassee Association of Women Lawyers, and Junior League, and more recently, with the Florida State University (FSU) College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Rotary Club of Tallahassee. In 2017, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL) recognized Ginger’s service to the organization and the profession with a Leader in the Law award.
At Nelson Mullins, Boyd is a leader of the Tallahassee office women’s affinity group called Women on the Go, serves as a member of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee, and was selected to participate in the 2020 High Potentials Program.
