Business and politics magazine Georgia Trend has awarded Nelson Mullins partner George Ray a spot on its prestigious 40 Under 40 list for 2024.
George, who is based in the firm’s Atlanta office, focuses his practice on Georgia government relations, state and local administrative law and regulatory proceedings, and business litigation. Representing education, healthcare, nonprofit, and other business entities before the Georgia General Assembly and state agencies, George works with clients to develop and implement strategies at each stage of the legislative and regulatory policy processes. He also helps clients resolve Georgia business, regulatory, and procurement disputes.
According to Georgia Trend, the ideal candidate for the list is a Georgia professional who is passionate about community service. George has worked with the Georgia Justice Project to achieve several legislative successes in the Georgia General Assembly over the last five years and has served as a pro bono attorney for the Georgia Innocence Project, helping wrongfully convicted individuals seek compensation from the State of Georgia for their wrongful incarceration. In addition to his work around criminal justice reform policy, George served as a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association’s Board of Trustees and is a UGA Law School Alumni Association Council's Young Alumni Committee member. He was also recently appointed vice chair of the education and workforce subcommittee on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Council.
Georgia Trend has covered Georgia business, politics, and economic development since 1985 and maintains a total audience of more than 238,000 between their magazine, newsletter, and online readership.
