NEW YORK — Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is pleased to announce that Scott Walker has joined the firm’s Real Estate Capital Markets practice in New York. Walker brings over two decades of legal experience, most recently serving as associate general counsel at Freddie Mac, where he supported the multifamily division for 12 years.

Walker offers a rare and valuable combination of skills that strengthens the firm’s capabilities in agency finance and workouts. He is widely recognized for his strategic, business-minded approach to complex workouts, foreclosures, loan restructurings, and related litigation. His deep connections within the commercial real estate finance industry position him to contribute meaningfully to future client development for the firm in the origination, servicing and special servicing of commercial real estate loans originated under federal agency programs.

“Scott is a key addition to our team, and his experience will be instrumental in helping us expand and elevate our agency practice,” said partner Rusty Fleming, co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Capital Markets group. “With his leadership, we’re not only filling a gap in what we offer, but we’re also introducing a whole new line of business that will bring even more value to our clients. We’re excited to see the impact he’ll have on our growth moving forward.”

“I’m excited to join a firm with such a tremendous and well-established platform in the commercial real estate space,” said Walker. “Nelson Mullins has built a strong reputation, and I look forward to bringing my agency experience to further enhance the firm’s capabilities and growing practice.”
