Nelson Mullins Advises Mercado de Recebíveis in Latest Financing Round Led by Headline

Nelson Mullins served as U.S. legal counsel to Mercado de Recebíveis, a Brazilian fintech company, in connection with its latest financing round led by Headline, a global venture capital firm with a data-driven and internet-focused investment approach.

This funding round increased Mercado de Recebíveis’ valuation to approximately $55.1 million. The proceeds will support the company’s continued growth, including the expansion of its commercial and technology operations, continued platform enhancements, and product development.

Nelson Mullins previously advised Mercado de Recebíveis during its initial funding round, which was led by Urca Angels with participation from Inês Corrêa de Souza and Marcelo Bella. The funds supported early-stage product development, technology investment, and team growth.

Deal team includes Nelson Mullins partners Leandro Molina and Caio Prado, along with associate Rebecca Lester.

Molina has over 20 years of experience working as a corporate finance attorney. He represents start-ups, emerging companies, and investors in corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, and financing rounds in all tech sectors. He also advises foreign clients accessing the U.S. market, as well as U.S. companies and funds investing in Latin America. He is dual-qualified in the USA and Brazil (New York and São Paulo) and is a Foreign Legal Consultant in Florida.

Prado provides strategic business–oriented advice to high–growth companies and investors as they face legal and business challenges. He focuses his practice on emerging growth and venture capital financings, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and business counseling for high-net-worth individuals and family offices.

Lester advises multinational corporations, emerging growth companies, and venture capital investors on a variety of transactions, including private equity investments, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Her practice focuses primarily on cross-border transactions, especially with LatAm entities and investors.

Nelson Mullins’ attorneys and the firm’s venture capital practice have been consistently ranked in prominent legal rankings and publications, including Chambers USA, Legal 500, Legal 500 Latin America, and Pitchbook.
