Columbia Metropolitan Magazine Features Nelson Mullins’ Ivan Earle and His Family's Holiday Giving Tradition
At age 6, Ivan Earle’s youngest brother Bryson noticed a homeless man on a bench one cold winter day and decided with his mother to bring the man a warm blanket. After witnessing the epidemic of homelessness, Ivan and his brothers came up with the idea to collect blankets and gently used winter wear at their family's annual Christmas party to distribute to homeless people on Christmas morning.
Now, 11 years later, the tradition has grown to two truckloads of warm blankets and coats and plenty of food to go around at Finlay Park, a local gathering place for many homeless folks.
Ivan is an IT Technician in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP's Columbia office. The article, published in Columbia Metropolitan Magazine's December issue, explores how the culture of giving at home spreads outward into the community.
