What to Know When Joining a Special Litigation Committee (SLC)

Companies often investigate alleged misconducts of their current or former administrators at the counsel of shareholders. When this occurs, a lengthy screening will follow, performed by a special litigation committee (SLC). An SLC is empowered by a company's board to investigate and determine whether the prosecution of claims is in the best interest of its company. It is the most constructive method of dispute resolution for the company.
