In his banking practice, Brian guides banks and other financial institutions through transactional, regulatory, operational and litigation matters, helping his clients achieve their objectives, mitigate risks, and pursue opportunities for growth. Having served as general counsel, and as in-house counsel at a prominent Texas-based bank, Brian has in-depth knowledge of the concerns and demands that banking executives and financial professionals face. He has guided financial institutions through mergers and acquisitions, core conversions, documentation overhauls, and the effective mitigation of risk.
In his real estate and finance practices, Brian helps clients in the documentation of sophisticated financial transactions involving various types of collateral. He has closed thousands of loans for clients relating to commercial real estate. His projects cover a broad range of areas, including but not limited to, homebuilder finance, construction, hotel development, industrial facilities, marinas, multi-family and single-family residential developments, office space, and retail shopping center development and redevelopment. Brian helps his clients understand and navigate all aspects of the deal.
Brian also advises special servicers and financial institutions across the country in all aspects of distressed debt management, including workouts, foreclosures, and REO portfolio management.
