Government and Internal Investigations

  • Represented cryptocurrency exchange (Poloniex, LLC) in settlement with the SEC regarding alleged violations of the Exchange Act.
  • Represented cryptocurrency exchange (Poloniex, LLC) in settlement with OFAC.
  • Represented public entity in investigations by the SEC and DOJ.
  • Conducted internal investigations for Fortune 100 company related to whistleblower complaints.
  • Conducted internal investigation for Fortune 100 company related to sales practices.

Litigation

  • Represents jewelry manufacturer in putative class actions alleging that it falsely advertised its jewelry products were lead and nickel free.
  • Represents former Adidas executive in RICO action filed by former Louisville basketball player.
  • Represented cryptocurrency exchange in putative class action in the Southern District of New York alleging manipulation of the cryptocurrency market and Antitrust, CEA, and RICO claims.
  • Represents FinTech and fantasy sports companies in consumer arbitrations.
  • Represented public entity in securities fraud class action related to disclosures made in municipal bond offerings.
  • Routinely advises clients on defensible approaches to the preservation, collection, and production of electronically stored information and helps develop strategies for clients to address electronic discovery challenges in litigation.

Previous Professional Experience

  • Associate, Milbank LLP, New York: represented large banks, hedge funds, and other Fortune 500 companies in an array of complex commercial litigation and white collar matters; defended clients in civil litigation matters and business disputes involving federal and state claims, including antitrust, CEA, RICO, and fraudulent transfers; and represented clients in white collar criminal and regulatory investigations by federal, state, and foreign regulators (2008–2017).
  • Secondee in Business Intelligence Group/Compliance Group in the New York office of Goldman, Sachs & Co. (2011).
