He has provided strategic advice to numerous clients in multiple fields including health care, transportation, energy, appropriations, homeland security, foreign relations, and commerce and trade.
Having experience in both the Legislative and Executive Branches of government, Michael is the founding principal of Pendulum Strategies, LLC, a hands-on firm representing publicly traded companies and both private and quasi-public sector clients before the U.S. Congress, several Presidential administrations, and municipal governments. During his years working in the United States Senate, he served as a Legislative Assistant to former Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) before serving as Chief of Staff for former Senator Carol Moseley-Braun (D-IL).
In 1998, Michael was nominated by former President Bill Clinton and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be Assistant Secretary for Government Affairs for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). He managed the Department’s legislative and non-legislative relationships with Congress and directed the US DOT legislative program. He has valuable associations with the House and Senate after acting as key contributor to the DOT's daily outreach and congressional matters.
