Josh is a trusted employment lawyer and legal advisor for international and high-growth companies in Texas. His clients keep him on a monthly retainer, so he's embedded in their business. When they call, he already knows the context, the people, and the strategy. His practice combines employment litigation, day-to-day employment counseling, and international advisory work, allowing him to help clients protect their businesses, manage their workforces, and grow across borders.

Josh represents employers in high-stakes litigation involving trade secrets, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in state and federal courts. His experience includes matters under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and their state-law equivalents. He has secured preliminary and permanent injunctions, defense verdicts, and summary judgments on behalf of multinational corporations, local governments, and emerging companies. Josh also represents individual executives defending against non-compete enforcement actions and claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information. His experience on the employer side gives him a distinct advantage in identifying weaknesses in restrictive covenant claims and negotiating favorable resolutions for executives.

Josh's practice extends well beyond the courtroom. He serves as embedded outside employment counsel to companies that retain him on a monthly basis, providing the continuous, context-rich guidance typically associated with in-house counsel. His clients call him before they make the decision, not after the dispute has begun. He advises startups, private equity firms, HR leaders, and executive teams on day-to-day employment matters, including drafting executive employment agreements and employee handbooks, designing restrictive covenant programs, and conducting FLSA compliance audits. Josh also serves as employment counsel on the buy side of M&A transactions, conducting workforce due diligence, drafting executive compensation agreements, and structuring retention arrangements to protect deal value through closing and integration.

Josh maintains an active international business expansion practice, assisting companies seeking to enter or expand operations in the United States. He advises international clients on the legal, regulatory, and cultural dimensions of establishing a U.S. presence, including entity selection, employment law compliance, expatriate workforce management, and comparative analysis of U.S. and home-country employment regimes. His global experience spans operations and personnel in Africa, South America, and across the energy, biopharmaceutical, and technology sectors.

Josh also leads external workplace investigations for employers facing allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment, fraud, and breaches of fiduciary duty. His investigative work draws on his litigation experience, allowing him to conduct thorough, legally defensible reviews that position clients to make informed decisions and, when necessary, defend those decisions in court.
