Pair of Nelson Mullins Partners Recognized in 2026 Edition of Atlanta 500
Atlanta Magazine
Atlanta Magazine recently recognized a pair of Nelson Mullins partners, Michael Hollingsworth and Amy Cheng, to the 2026 Atlanta 500 list for the third straight year. Published annually, the list recognizes 500 preeminent leaders in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Hollingsworth and Cheng represented Nelson Mullins among the 27 total attorneys honored in the publication.
Hollingsworth, managing partner of Nelson Mullins' Atlanta office, has led the growth of the office from 83 to over 170 attorneys. Named to the list every year since 2018, he is co-chair of the firm's Mergers and Acquisitions Group and its Investment Management Group, and also serves on the firm's Executive Committee. His practice focuses on middle-market coprorate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. For his work in the area, he was named a 2025 "leading partner" by Legal 500 for middle-market M&A work as among the strongest partners in the field nationwide, taking the helm on market-leading deals and endorsed by peers and clients alike. He was also principal in helping the firm achieve a Tier 3 ranking in the same practice area.
A graduate of Emory Law, Cheng, described by the magazine as an experienced litigator, works with clients from early-stage startups to multinational corporations in healthcare and other industries with employment, commercial, white-collar, and government investigations. She regularly advises clients on critical business matters including employment agreements and regulations, termination and grievance procedures, state and federal agency charges, breach of contract, and tortious claims. In 2023, Cheng was also the first individual of Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander descent to be elected president of the Atlanta Bar Assocation since its founding in 1888, and last year she was appointed to the Atlanta Board of Education Ethics Commission. She is also highly involved in the local nonprofit community. This is her third year in a row being named to the Atlanta 500; she was also previously named to the magazine's "Women Making a Mark" list.
Since 1961, Atlanta Magazine, the city’s premier general interest publication, has served as the authority on Atlanta, providing its readers with a mix of long-form nonfiction, lively lifestyle coverage, in-depth service journalism, and literary essays, columns, and profiles.
