NEW YORK — Brazilian startup Agrolend has raised $27 million in a Series B funding round. The round was led by global private equity company Lightrock. Nelson Mullins represented Lightrock as U.S. counsel and foreign advisor. Brazilian law firm Mattos Filho served as co-counsel on the deal.
Agrolend aims to reach 10,000 small and medium-sized farms through its mobile platform. The company plans to use the proceeds to grow its credit offering across Brazil and become the first digital bank for Brazil's agribusiness sector.
Nelson Mullins partner Leandro V. Molina led the deal along with associate Jordan Zornes.
Molina has more than 18 years of experience working as a corporate finance attorney, with a focus in emerging companies work, cross-border M&A, and venture capital deals. He provides advice to Brazilian and foreign clients accessing the U.S. market, as well as to U.S. companies and funds investing in Brazil and other Latin American countries.
Zornes practices corporate law representing multinational corporations, startups, emerging growth companies, and venture capital investors in a variety of transactions, including private equity, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.
