MIAMI — A team of attorneys from Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP closed a $60 million Series B Financing for the firm’s client, DGB USA Inc. aka Digibee. Last year Nelson Mullins also represented Digibee in their $25 million dollars Series A fundraise, which was led by SoftBank Latin America Fund. Originally founded in Brazil, Digibee now operates out of South Florida providing a low-code enterprise integration that bridges the gap between current systems and new technologies by connecting data and platforms.
The Series B fundraise was led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Growth Equity business, along with investors from Europe and Brazil. The investors participating in the Series B Round included Leadwind (K Fund’s growth fund), Vivo Ventures (Brazilian telco Vivo’s corporate venture capital arm), Kinea, and G2D.
Partners Jackson Hwu, co-chair of the firm’s Latin America practice, and Caio Prado, led the team of lawyers on the deal. The team of lawyers also included Washington D.C. partner Adam Safwat and Miami associates Brenno Ribeiro and Rebecca Lester. Hwu and Prado are partners in the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice. They advise emerging growth companies in corporate structuring, VC financing rounds, acquisitions, and other matters. As part of a full-service law firm, Hwu and Prado assist clients, particularly Brazilian and Latin American emerging companies doing business in the U.S., on all legal aspects of their operations, including corporate, tax, data privacy, IP licensing and protection, industry regulations, commercial contracts and partnerships, employment and labor, executive compensation, and litigation.
