BALTIMORE -- Nelson Mullins partners Kraig Long and Alicia Ritchie have been selected to receive the Profiles in Diversity Journals Black Leadership Award. The individuals selected for the award display talent and skill, a commitment to excellence, a passion for mentoring and advocating for the next generation, and an ongoing involvement with the larger community.

The Black Leadership Award recipients that will appear in PDJ’s Q4 issue will share their stories with readers—the personal and professional experiences that have shaped their success and the insights they have gained along the way, as well as some very valuable words of advice.

Long defends employers against claims of discrimination and harassment, wage and hour violations, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and retaliation. He also regularly counsels and trains supervisors and managers on accommodating employees with disabilities, managing family and medical leave, creating diverse and inclusive workplaces, and minimizing litigation risks in the workplace.

Ritchie is an experienced litigator who handles complex cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country. She routinely defends manufacturers, retailers, and other corporate clients in a variety of litigation matters that span industries and pose substantial financial and reputational risk to their businesses. While she maintains a broad litigation practice, her areas of focus include products liability and mass tort litigation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, negligence, toxic tort, and multi-district litigation.
