Nelson Mullins partner Sean McKenna was named a 2025 "Best Lawyer" by D Magazine, which covers business and legal happenings in the Dallas metropolitan market. McKenna was recognized in the Criminal Defense: White Collar section. 

The award marks back-to-back years for McKenna on the peer-nominated list, as well as his seventh time since 2015 to be included. He is a veteran in the field of white collar criminal defense and health care work and has been recognized in the past by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.

McKenna is a former federal prosecutor with 27 years of experience practicing law. He focuses his practice on health care-related legal matters and has represented companies, clinicians, and executives in white-collar criminal, civil False Claims Act, and qui tam cases and investigations.

McKenna's award continues the flourishing practice in the Dallas office. In recent months, D Magazine tagged partner Kevin Woltjen as an M&A "Dealmaker of the Year" and senior associate Brent Buyse as a Best Lawyer Under 40 for the third year in a row.
