Jaguar Fund No. I, L.P. announced in October that its subsidiary General International Telecom Ltd. has agreed to acquire Telefonica Móviles El Salvador S.A. de C.V., one of El Salvador’s largest mobile phone companies. Telefonica Móviles is a subsidiary of Telefonica S.A., a global telecommunications company headquartered in Spain. The transaction is valued at $144 million and would represent Telefonica SA’s exit from telecommunications in Central America. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the first half of 2022. Telefonica Móviles El Salvador S.A. de C.V. is Telefonica’s last wireless communications platform in Central America.
Jaguar Fund No. I, L.P. was represented by a joint legal team from Nelson Mullins (Miami partners, Geiza Vargas-Vargas and John Haley, and Miami associates Franco Furmanski, Victoria Moreno-Pabon, and Gabriel Castillo) and Baker Botts (partners, Bill Lamb and Jonathan Gordan, and associates, Carlos Marquez and Grace Matthews).
