Nelson Mullins Boosts National Reach with Five New Attorneys in Five Cities

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, a full-service national law firm with offices from coast to coast, welcomes five attorneys to its corporate, litigation, and healthcare practices. Partners Melissa Davis and Mark de St. Aubin join the firm’s litigation practice in Boston, and Atlanta respectively. Of counsel Robert Koury joins the firm’s Ohio litigation group in Cleveland, Janet Siok joins the corporate and real estate practice in Dallas, and seasoned healthcare attorney Lester Perling returns to the Fort Lauderdale office after two years at McDermott Will & Emery.

“We are all very happy that Lester is returning to the firm,” said Fort Lauderdale office managing partner Gabriel Imperato. “We’ve missed his camaraderie and excellent counsel. Lester’s return surely gives us a greater depth of health law expertise to serve our clients.”

Perling is a board-certified healthcare lawyer with extensive experience on matters in healthcare compliance and regulation, including enforcement and reimbursement. Perling worked at Broad and Cassel for 24 years until its merger with Nelson Mullins, where he practiced from 2018-2022. He also has more than a decade of executive experience, previously serving as a CEO in the healthcare arena.

Columbia Partner and litigation team leader Mark Jones welcomes the arrival of three new litigators.

“Melissa, Robert, and Mark will play integral roles in the expansion of our litigation practice within their respective markets,” Jones said. “Each brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and diversity to the firm, and we are confident they will further strengthen our client services in their practice areas.”

Before joining Nelson Mullins, Koury was the CEO of Republic Steel and has more than a decade handling complex commercial matters. Previously at Shook Hardy & Bacon, Davis represents clients in a range of health, science, and technology sectors, including agribusiness, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical devices. She also has experience in International Trade Commission investigations, mediation, and arbitration.

De St. Aubin, a former partner at Hudson Lambert Parrott, LLC has roughly 30 years of experience advising clients on public and private, national and international, construction projects. Prior to joining the firm, Siok served as managing counsel for Toyota Motor North America, Inc.

Nelson Mullins’ Fort Lauderdale office currently houses 19 attorneys, 60 in the Boston office, 17 in Cleveland, 168 in Atlanta, and 37 in Dallas.
