Nelson Mullins Advises Genesis in Renewal as Title Partner of The Genesis Invitational
The Nelson Mullins Sports Law team led by partners Jay Fee and Franco Furmanski represented Genesis in connection with its renewal as Title Partner of The Genesis Invitational, a PGA TOUR Signature Event hosted by Tiger Woods.
Under the renewed multi‑year agreement, Genesis will continue its role as Title Partner of the Genesis Invitational through 2030, reinforcing its long‑standing relationship with the PGA TOUR and TGR Live (an event management company founded by Tiger Woods).
The renewed partnership was announced at a signing ceremony held at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, and attended by PGA TOUR Chief Executive Officer Brian Rolapp, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, and tournament host Tiger Woods.
Jay and Franco played a central role in structuring and negotiating the renewal and extension working in collaboration with the leaders of the Genesis legal and business units, including Geoff Moore (Assistant General Counsel for Genesis corporate transactions), Melissa Minihan (Senior Group Manager, Genesis Brand and Experiential Marketing), Stephanie Ryder (Senior Manager, Genesis Brand and Experiential Marketing), and David Wisely (Senior Vice President, Experiential Group Innocean Worldwide Americas).
First contested in 1926, The Genesis Invitational is one of the PGA TOUR’s longest‑running tournaments and will celebrate its centennial in 2026. The 2026 event also marks the tournament’s return to The Riviera Country Club after being held in San Diego in 2025 due to wildfires affecting the Greater Los Angeles area.
