Experience

  • Negotiated NFL stadium naming rights agreement on behalf of a global automotive client.
  • Represented a global consumer electronics company, completing negotiations on a multi-year national sponsorship agreement with the National Football League and other sponsorship agreements with 30 NFL franchises.
  • Represented corporations and other entities engaged with PGA TOUR to secure Tournament Title Sponsorships, Official Marketing Partnerships, and licensing agreements.
  • Negotiated naming rights to new NBA and NFL practice facilities for a southeastern US healthcare system.
  • Completed a multi-media rights agreement with Learfield on behalf of a major northeast university.
  • Represented a major California-based golf equipment company concerning matters relating to their sponsorship, advertising and marketing activities with professional golfers.
  • Negotiated an NBA team jersey patch multi-year sponsorship agreement for a national digital healthcare company.
  • Counseled global automotive company in connection with the acquisition of promotional and multi-media rights to several colleges and universities from Learfield/IMG College Communications.
  • Counseled global footwear and apparel company concerning a return to NBA; NCAA compliance and the recruitment and signing of NBA draft selections as brand ambassadors.
  • Negotiated global licensing and video game agreement on behalf of world’s highest ranked professional golfer with EA Sports.
  • Advised a new sports league on establishment of a personal conduct policy and a protocol for performance enhancing substance testing and violation sanctions.
  • Counseled clients concerning business and legal considerations relating to agreements with sports properties such as Formula 1 racing teams, Major League Lacrosse, US Ski Team, MLS, and professional golf tournament sponsorships.
  • Advised clients on a variety of legal implications such as brand protection and exclusivity related to sponsorship and licensing initiatives.

Previous Professional Experience

  • Worked at another Boston law firm as a corporate real estate attorney where he negotiated large mitigation settlements for Boston property owners impacted by the Federal Highway Administration project, known as "Big Dig."
  • Worked at Woolf Associates, a sports agency in Boston, as an NHLPA Certified Player Agent and a Director of the Hockey Division.
  • Negotiated settlements for property owners threatened with eminent domain and the loss of businesses and buildings in New York City related to Columbia University's campus expansion.
