Atlanta Partner Amy B. Cheng Receives OCA-Georgia Community Service Award

ATLANTA — Atlanta based commercial and employment litigation partner Amy B. Cheng has been named the recipient of OCA-Georgia's 2024 Community Service Award. Cheng will be honored at the organization's Asian American Heritage Month Celebration on May 4.

Founded in 1983, OCA-Georgia is a nonprofit organization and chapter of OCA National that is committed to embracing the hopes and aspirations of all Asian Americans and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders. The organization is active in local events and community involvement, striving to promote the general welfare of Asian Pacific Americans.

The Community Service Award is given to individuals that have made significant contributions to their community through volunteer work and devoting time, resources, and energy to helping others with the overall goal of enhancing life within the community. Per OCA-GA President, the Organization could think of no one better than Cheng to honor this year.

Cheng regularly defends individuals, companies, and higher education institutions in a wide range of labor and employment, business litigation, white collar defense, and government investigations matters.

Currently, Cheng serves as the President of the Atlanta Bar Association for the 2023–2024 term. A member since 2017, she is the first AAPI president of the organization. Cheng has been recognized by numerous other organizations for her professional excellence as a lawyer and service to her community.

She is a graduate of Emory University (Bachelor of Science), the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, and Emory University School of Law. Cheng, a Charleston native, joined Nelson Mullins in 2018.
