In an interview with Forkast, an online platform focusing on technology news at the intersection of business, economy, and politics, Denver partner and Chair of Nelson Mullins' FinTech and Regulation Practice Richard Levin weighs in on potential outcomes of a new petition calling for Congress to investigate the SEC for alleged misconduct and conflict of interest.
“When one party controls the executive branch and two parts of Congress, and it’s an election year, the notion that Congress is going to act on any petition is hopeful at best,” Levin is quoted as saying in the article.
Levin added that implications that the SEC acted illegally are inappropriate and attacks on the agency unwarranted and the petition has a low chance of success.
