North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center
Charlotte-based attorney Ashia Crooms-Carpenter practices in the areas of consumer litigation and complex business litigation, including lender liability, and dealer/distributor/franchise disputes. On top of her work as a part of the Business and Distribution Litigation Team at Nelson Mullins, Crooms-Carpenter provides her knowledge and ability to the North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center. Recently in a post to the web she was profiled by the resource center. In the article featuring her, Crooms-Carpenter said her favorite pro bono experience was the Frontline Health Planning Project – a project aimed at assisting healthcare workers and other essential workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This pro bono experience offered by the Pro Bono Resource Center provided me with the unique honor of supporting North Carolina frontline healthcare workers during the height of the pandemic," Crooms-Carpenter told the organization. "More specifically, I helped healthcare workers and their families with crucial legal matters by preparing legal documents, such as a Health Care Power of Attorney and Living Will, which provided security and peace of mind for healthcare workers as they cared for COVID-19 patients."
