With the launch of Power:Ed, an organization started by South Carolina Student Loan Corp (SCLSC) to fund education initiatives in the state, Greenville partner Neil Grayson told Columbia Business Monthly last week of Power:Ed's hopes for South Carolina students. Grayson is an SCLSC board member and a committee chair for Power:Ed.
"We're excited to invest in local education efforts that help our students become prepared for the workforce and improve South Carolina's educational system." Grayson said. "Additionally, we want to help create opportunities and eliminate educational barriers for all residents of South Carolina regardless of age, race, gender, or economic status."
Power:Ed will offer grants to academic institutions and organizations that target educational challenges to students in the state, especially to those targeting the following areas:
Grayson is head of the Firm's financial institutions corporate and regulatory practice group. Beyond serving on SCLSC's Board of Directors, he is also on the boards for Institute for Child Success and Public Education Partners.
