Hand Sanitizer Co. Settles $2.5M Suit Over Disinfectant Order
Law 360
A cleaning products wholesaler secured a $2.5 million consent judgment against a hand sanitizer supplier it accused of sending it the wrong product after the wholesaler purchased thousands of bottles of surface disinfectant early in the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a Georgia federal court order.
U.S. District Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr. signed off on a roughly $2.5 million consent judgment against Solv-All Alliance Group in favor of Atlanta-based S.P. Richards Co. on Wednesday. The order also enters a judgment in favor of SPR on its breach of contract, fraud in the inducement, negligent misrepresentation, breach of express warranty, and breach of implied warranty claims against Ohio-based Solv-All.
The wholesaler voluntarily dropped its claims seeking attorney fees and punitive damages from Solv-All, according to court records.
SPR is represented by Scott N. Sherman and Abigail C. Castleberry of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP and Stephen M. Faraci Sr. and David L. Amos of Whiteford Taylor & Preston LLP.
