Jack Smith, who is an environmental attorney and partner at Nelson Mullins as well as chair of the ULI Coastal Forum, will be speaking at the ULI Coastal Forum 2021. The presentation, "Preparing Communities for Federal Resilience Funding," will explore the community-level needs and barriers that need to be addressed to leverage federally supported resilience projects as well as how coastal communities can prepare for funding and competitive grants. 

Jack practices in the areas of environmental law and litigation, administrative law, land use law, and constitutional law. His practice includes hazardous waste site management and remediation, contaminated property liability negotiation, redevelopment and related regulatory counseling. He has also worked for several state and federal government environmental agencies. 

The ULI Costal Foum is a member-initiated network of leaders focused on waterfront development to discuss these critical issues and connect with experts around the country to foster climate resilience in coastal communities. The Coastal Forum invites members interested in continuing this discussion to stay online from 3:00 – 3:30 pm ET to talk about local issues and brainstorm how the Coastal Forum can support District Council resilience initiatives.
