Sean McKenna to Present at the Nelson Mullins Sponsored ABA National Managed Care Institute
Hosted by: American Bar Association (ABA)
Dallas partner Sean McKenna will present, “MC Enforcement Landscape & MA Litigation Update,” at the upcoming American Bar Association (ABA) National Managed Care Institute from November 13-14 in New York.
Alongside his co-panelists, Hillary Harlan with BDO and Michael McCarthy with Independence Blue Cross, McKenna will dissect an in-depth analysis of recent regulatory and enforcement developments affecting the managed care industry, with a particular focus on Medicare Advantage (MA). Panelists will examine key trends in federal investigations, False Claims Act (FCA) litigation, and enforcement actions initiated by CMS, OIG, and the Department of Justice. The discussion will include a review of high-stakes cases, evolving compliance obligations, and emerging legal theories. Attendees will gain valuable insights into current enforcement priorities and strategic considerations for defending against government investigations and FCA claims in the managed care context.
McKenna is a former federal prosecutor with more than 27 years of experience practicing law. He focuses his practice at Nelson Mullins on healthcare-related legal matters and has represented companies, clinicians, and executives in white-collar criminal, civil False Claims Act, qui tam, and payor appeal cases and investigations.
The National Managed Care Institute is regarded as the “flagship annual symposium of the ABA Health Law Section for the managed care industry, where the nation’s healthcare legal minds and innovators converge to tackle the ever-evolving world of managed care.” Attendees from across the country will learn more about cutting edge topics affecting the managed care and policy law landscape.
