Columbia partner Brad Barringer will be a panelist for the “How to Eat an Elephant: One Byte at a Time” panel discussion at the 2024 Annual Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Meeting in Nashville on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Barringer uses his background in complex litigation to help clients navigate challenges in the areas of electronic discovery, records management and information governance, and litigation readiness. His electronic discovery experience includes development and implementation of discovery response strategies, representation of clients in disputes with opposing parties, and responses to governmental investigations and subpoenas. Brad also advises clients on information governance, records management, data privacy, and litigation readiness strategies, often using his background as a licensed professional engineer to bridge communication gaps between technology and legal teams. For many clients, he works to ensure that approaches to discovery in litigation and investigatory matters are consistent with defensible company-wide data governance strategies and policies.
Alongside Barringer, panelists Kon Leong, CEO of ZL Technologies, Natalie Prescott, general counsel and chief privacy officer of Fulgent Genetics, and Matt Hitchcock, associate general counsel with Vault Insurance, will take the stage and dive into cost and risk reduction strategies in the realm of big data during this interactive panel discussion. This session will present hypothetical situations that in-house counsel may face involving large amounts of data—from broad litigation requests and regulatory compliance efforts to intricate privacy dilemmas.
The 2024 Annual ACC Meeting kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 9. The full meeting agenda can be found here.
