Nashville of counsel Mallory Acheson will serve as a moderator for the presentation, “More Human than Human: Will ChatGPT be Your Next Review Team,” during the 13th Annual Electronic Discovery Institute (EDI) Leadership Summit in Indian Wells, California on Oct. 13.
The following corporate attorneys will serve as panelists: Mike Bigham, a consultant and associate director of e-discovery with Eli Lilly; Kevin Brady, corporate counsel with Volkswagen of America; Jana Friedman, managing director and senior attorney at American Airlines; Jessica Escalera, global head of legal discovery operations and chief data officer with Barclays; and Matthew Moses, vice president and e-discovery counsel with Deutsche Bank. The group of seasoned professionals will discuss the increasingly common use of artificial intelligence (AI), specifically in the legal technology industry, and what effects this use can have in e-discovery matters. Presenters will further dissect the basics of generative AI in e-discovery, the challenges and ethical considerations it presents, the future of such technology in the field of e-discovery, the role that powerful tools like ChatGPT play in e-discovery, and much more.
Acheson, who holds CIPP/E and CIPM certifications, focuses her practice at Nelson Mullins on privacy and security compliance, technology transactions, and the intersection of data and electronic discovery issues. She helps clients navigate domestic and internal privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, TCPA, HIPAA, and GLBA. She is based in the firm’s Nashville office.
