Nelson Mullins is an underwriter of the 2024 Healthcare Leadership Quorum (HCLQ) in Houston, Texas, on June 6. This program will include three panel discussions on how we address complex healthcare needs with limited resources and unlimited ingenuity. HCLQ is a non-profit educational platform created for industry professionals to discuss relevant & pressing issues in healthcare.
Houston partner Darren Skyles will act as a panel moderator. Skyles is a co-founder of HCLQ and serves as both a director and the president of this non-profit. The panels will include professionals across the healthcare industry. Attendees can look forward to the following topics of discussion during the program:
The discussion here will cover how two very different Texas communities (Houston and Midland)—different in terms of population size, available workforce, partners, etc.— answer the rising need for mental healthcare resources and manage mental healthcare along the patient care management continuum. The challenges include severe financial constraints in funding and available providers, which inspires communities to find mental health champions to raise funds and to discover new ways of working together to fill in gaps in the care delivery.

The panelists will discuss both the horizon for AI use in the healthcare environment and its challenges. Panelists will touch upon the early executive and legislative action, at both the federal and state level, to address AI in healthcare.

Each of these panelists view the increasing crisis of finding healthcare workers from a unique perspective, and their conversation will involve civic, academic and service-provider concerns. Discussions will include the specific challenges in recruiting for, educating and retaining a strong workforce in healthcare, considering the state of healthcare today and what it can be in the future.
