Partners Gabe Imperato and Bob Wade will participate in the Florida Compliance and Privacy Consortium on Feb. 8. During their session they will give a review of compliance Issues in hospital and physician financial arrangements and Fair Market Value (FMV) Payment, presented by Wade and a case study for healthcare organizations and compliance professionals to respond to reports of potential violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), presented by Imperato.
Wade has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and counsels clients on fraud and abuse issues, fair market value, commercial reasonableness and developing, monitoring, and documenting effective healthcare compliance programs. Wade serves clients nationally as a compliance professional and assists in negotiating and implementing corporate integrity agreements and in documenting and defending financial arrangements being of fair market value and commercially reasonable between healthcare providers. He has represented healthcare providers, including hospitals, large health systems, and referring physicians in such matters and has also represented healthcare clients under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of Inspector General.
Imperato is the managing partner of the Fort Lauderdale office. His personal practice includes representing individuals and organizations accused of healthcare fraud and assisting and advising healthcare organizations on corporate governance and compliance matters. Gabriel is board certified as a specialist in Health Law by the Florida Bar. He is also certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC) by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and the Health Care Compliance Association (SCCE/HCCA).
