  • Regularly advises clients on, and helps implement, best practices, as well as how to maintain compliance in their workplace by counseling on employment policies
  • Conducts management and employee training on matters such as employee discipline, internal investigations, wage and hour audits, and litigation avoidance
  • Assists employers in drafting employee handbooks, employment contracts, non–compete agreements, and severance agreements
  • Defends employers against claims of FLSA wage and hour violations, including retaliation claims
  • Assists businesses with employment issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset purchase agreements and other corporate transactions
  • Keeps abreast of new technology and legislation related to employment law, and can assist in drafting Social Media policies, Bring Your Own Device policies (BYOD), sexual harassment policies, drug testing policies and responding to and reporting data breaches under state and federal law, as well as assisting with FLSA audits and compliance issues
  • Represents company management in Department of Labor and National Labor Relations Board and EEOC investigations
  • Successfully defended national pharmacy chain against retaliation and claims of failure to accommodate brought by an employee under the ADA
  • Obtained a defense jury verdict on unpaid wage claim brought against U.S. government contractor in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida
  • Handled all employment agreements for a leading television and movie production/distribution studio’s acquisition of a digital marketing and communications company targeting the Latin American market
