Experience

  • Consumer Financial Services Litigation
    • Represents national and regional banks and other financial institutions in the defense of consumer claims and counterclaims to foreclosure actions and class actions
    • Provides proactive guidance to commercial entities to minimize potential liabilities under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the West Virginia Consumer Credit Protection Act, and general breach of contract claims
    • Represents financial institutions in the redemption of properties, compliance with statutory requirements and reaffirmation of security interests after recovery
  • Employment Litigation
    • Represents employers in wage and hour disputes, Family Medical Leave Act claims, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, noncompete agreements, harassment, discrimination, retaliation and claims under the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act
    • Provides both public and private employers with advice and training on employment issues, best practices and changing areas of the law
    • Investigates and litigates in federal and state court and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and in arbitration proceedings
