Alyssa also routinely counsels companies on RIF, OWBPA, and WARN Act matters, and mitigating risk during employee separations. Alyssa also advises on restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, including drafting policies to ensure protection of confidential information and intellectual property. She has experience in litigation from the early stages to close in a variety of employment matters, ranging from claims of employment discrimination or harassment, to restrictive covenants and trade secrets, to employment related torts. Representative Matters

  • Obtained summary judgment in federal court on all counts of employment discrimination, equal pay act, and breach of contract claim for national publisher 
  • Obtained dismissal of employment and tort counterclaims on behalf of manufacturing client in state court 
  • Successfully defended motions to compel and motions to quash discovery responses and requests in both federal and state court for nearly a dozen clients 
  • Obtained dismissal of employment and tort claims for large educational institution 
  • Advised large educational institutions on issues of tenure and breach of contract
  • Conducted workplace investigations into claims of employment discrimination or harassment
  • Obtained summary judgment in federal court for a financial institution in a restrictive covenant and trade secrets case
  • Obtained defense verdict in a jury trial involving claims under the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act and New York common law for a consulting company
  • Obtained directed verdict for one client and defense verdict for remaining client in a state court jury trial involving claims of tortious interference and breach of restrictive covenants for a manufacturing client
  • Obtained defense verdict in a bench trial involving claims of age discrimination and disparate impact
