COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Euromoney Legal Media Group, a UK-based publisher of legal directories, has shortlisted Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in several categories for its 2022 Women in Business Law Awards.
These awards celebrate groundbreaking achievements by the region’s leading female lawyers and the most progressive firms in terms of their gender policies, advocacy, and support of women in law.
In the North America category, Nelson Mullins is recognized for its pro bono work and programs focusing on career development.
In addition, the Firm is shortlisted for three jurisdictional awards – in the South, the Midwest and the West. This recognition is based on a large-picture view of initiatives, demographics and practitioners in each jurisdiction.
Finally, two Nelson Mullins partners are finalists for Lawyers of the Year. Denise M. Gunter is a finalist in Antitrust and Competition. Jane E. Remillard is a finalist in both Life Sciences and Patent.
All firm and individual winners will be announced in June at an event in New York City.
Gunter has more than two decades of experience representing clients in a variety of antitrust matters. She represents clients in civil and criminal antitrust litigation and government investigations and advises clients on pricing, distribution, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and Hart-Scott-Rodino premerger notification filings. She has a particular focus on healthcare antitrust matters and regularly advises healthcare providers on antitrust issues affecting their operations.
Remillard leads the Firm’s Life Sciences Intellectual Property Team and has over 25 years of experience providing worldwide patent counseling in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Jane’s practice focuses on developing and implementing effective IP strategies, building strong patent portfolios, and facilitating commercialization of products, particularly antibody-based therapeutics, through all phases of development.
Individual winners are judged on their professional accomplishments as well as their advocacy and influence within their fields between January 1 to December 31 of the preceding year. A Euromoney Legal Media Group research team conducts a series of peer review interviews—face-to-face and over the phone—with leading female practitioners across multiple areas of law and jurisdictions verifying much of the information provided. The team incorporates other research from within the group in order to further refine the results. Learn more.
