CHARLOTTE – The Mecklenburg Access to Justice Pro Bono Partners Program of the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and Legal Aid of North Carolina-Charlotte has recognized Thomas G. Hooper, John N. “Jay” Suhr Jr., and Fred M. Wood Jr. on its 2021 Pro Bono Honor Roll. The honor roll recognizes pro bono attorneys who donated at least 20 hours of service or closed three or more cases for the organization’s clients in 2020.
“Each of you has played a key role in helping our agencies provide access to justice to low-income clients in our community,” the organization noted on its honor roll website.
Hooper focuses on complex business and commercial litigation and consumer and commercial financial services litigation. Suhr focuses on commercial real estate finance and equity investment by traditional and capital markets lenders and representation of servicers in commercial loan transactions. Wood represents companies in a variety of matters, including cases involving unfair business practices and methods of competition, the North Carolina Trade Secrets Protection Act, business torts, and class actions.
