Nelson Mullins represented Organics Management Holdings, LLC in the sale of Black Kow, a leading brand in soil amendments, to the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (NYSE: SMG), a leading marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden products in North America.

The acquisition expands ScottsMiracle-Gro’s growing media and soil amendment portfolio with Black Kow’s established line of organic amendments, mature manure and specialty soils. With a 57-year history, Black Kow is a trusted brand in the lawn and garden industry, and the transaction positions it for continued growth and expanded national distribution.

The Nelson Mullins deal team included attorneys Jeff Friedman, Damon McLean, and Kelsie Willett, who served as legal counsel to Organics Management in the transaction.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
