Nelson Mullins contributed to Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation's (AVLF) inaugural fundraising cup competition. The firm earned first place within its category, raising over $35,000. Nelson Mullins was among six firms recognized as 2021 AVLF Cup Champions. Over 15 firms and over 400 individual donors competed in the cup, all of whom helped raise more than $157,000 toward the organization's annual campaign.
Nelson Mullins has been a long-time supporter of AVLF, with many Atlanta attorneys contributing pro bono work to their programs over the years. AVLF's mission is to create safe and stable homes and families in Atlanta by inspiring the fight for equal justice, according to its website. Serving over 5,000 individuals each year, AVLF offers pro bono legal services through programs such as the Safe Families Office, Standing with Our Neighbors, the Eviction Defense Program, and more.
AVLF has more than 40 staff members, rotating ranks of volunteer attorneys and legal professionals, and a Board of Directors and Leadership Council that guides the organization's goals and vision. Atlanta partner Andrew Rosenzweig served as President of AVLF's Leadership Council in 2021, partner Wade Malone was on the 2021 AVLF Cup Steering Committee, and partner Jennifer Malinovsky is an at-large member of AVLF's Board of Directors.
