CHICAGO — Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is pleased to announce that Galen Mason has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate Practice Group, significantly expanding the firm’s emerging companies and venture capital capabilities and strengthening its presence in the Midwest. He joins from Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, where he previously helped to build and lead their venture capital group.

Mason brings nearly 20 years of experience advising companies, founders, management teams, and investors, particularly in emerging enterprises. He guides clients on cap table management and investor equity matters and frequently serves as outside general counsel, providing practical advice at every stage of growth, including company formation, early-stage funding, later-stage financing, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, secondary transactions, and exit events.

He co-founded a leading early-stage coworking space and established and manages the Midwest branch of a major venture index fund. He also regularly participates in Midwest Series A financings alongside top investors nationwide.
