Daniel Nunn Named Jacksonville Daily Record Lawyer of the Year

Jacksonville partner Daniel Nunn was recently recognized as the 2026 recipient of the Jacksonville Daily Record's Lawyer of the Year Award.

Awarded to a Jacksonville Bar Association member who gives their time and talent to make the city a better place to live, Nunn received the honor in connection with his pro bono work with the LIFT JAX nonprofit. As part of ongoing renovations to the Jacksonville Jaguars' football stadium, Nunn and a team of local leaders secured a $115 million commitment from the city and the organization to aid the historic Eastside neighborhood.

The funds will support affordable housing, economic development, and workforce development in the Eastside community, a place of major cultural significance in northeast Florida. Jacksonville's city council approved funding in late 2024 as part of a multi-year project with LIFT JAX, a coalition of business and community leaders focused on eradicating generational poverty in the region.

“We’d like to make sure we can continue to improve the neighborhood without displacing residents," Nunn told the Daily Record. "This is just the beginning of what needs to happen for the Eastside.”

The Daily Record, Jacksonville's leading business newspaper, awarded Nunn at a luncheon in early May.

“Working alongside residents, business leaders and community stakeholders through the Together Eastside Coalition, [Nunn] helped translate community priorities into a clear legal and strategic framework to ensure the Eastside would share in the project’s benefits,” Daily Record publisher Angie Campbell said. “As remarkable as the outcome of this achievement is, the way he treated the people with care, responsiveness, respect and effective advocacy exemplifies the highest ideals of the legal profession. He strengthened not only a neighborhood but also trust in the law.”
