In 2021, Nelson Mullins was one of the two firms dominating partner hiring in South Florida, according to a report conducted by the Daily Business Review.

Adding four partners, the firm was the second most productive in bringing on laterals, behind Greenberg Traurig which had five hires. Nelson Mullins' 2021 lateral hires in South Florida included:

• Former GrayRobinson litigator Rebecca Rodriguez in Fort Lauderdale.
• Former McDonald Hopkins member and board-certified healthcare lawyer Courtney Tito in Boca Raton.
• Miami commercial litigator Justin Kaplan.
• Boca Raton real estate partner Shahrzad Emami Shaw.

Other 2021 trends that the Daily Business Review picked up on included higher instances of litigation and corporate attorneys, especially those with experience in white-collar crime, Latin American banking, and cross-border investigations.
