Courtroom View Network
Courtroom View Network listed a Johnson & Johnson case defended by Baltimore partner Mike Brown as the second most impressive defense verdict of 2019. Brown led the Nelson Mullins team defending the case, including Baltimore attorneys Scott Richman, Katherine Lawler, and Maria Iliadis and Charleston senior paralegal Trish Koester. Allison Brown of Skadden also contributed to the case's defense. This was the first cosmetic talc case to hit St. Louis since a landmark $4.7 billion plaintiff verdict in 2018.
Courtroom View Network notes this case as one of the most impressive of its kind because a defense verdict was reached relatively quickly in a venue known for large plaintiff verdicts, all while news related to Johnson & Johnson surfaced throughout the life of the case.
