Nelson Mullins partner Susan Stoffer was quoted in a leading article in Tax Notes. The article "SPAC Route Creates Executive Comp Planning ‘Fire Drill’" discusses the growth of special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), SPAC sponsors, equity acceleration, deduction loss, and more. Stoffer mentions that most SPAC target entities are not ready to be public companies from an executive compensation perspective, many times creating a "pretty big fire drill" to complete the overall implementation of a SPAC.
Stoffer is an Atlanta partner and practices in executive compensation and employee benefits law. She has spent more than 25 years, including many years with a large international law firm based in New York, counseling clients on equity and non-equity incentive plans and complex retirement plan and health and welfare plan compliance issues.
Tax Notes is a portfolio of publications offered by the nonprofit tax publisher Tax Analysts. It provides comprehensive and impartial coverage of tax news, and discussion and understanding of tax policy.
