Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough announced on Oct. 29 new partners Jackson Hwu, Leandro Molina, and Caio Prado, whose collective decades of experience bolster the firm's Latin America practice among others. Noting the burgeoning pattern of these types of practices in South Florida, American Lawyer featured the move.
"I get calls for projects and potential clients every day," Hwu told the publication. "A lot of corporate clients from Latin America are seeing that there are other options than New York for good service and a cultural fit."
Hwu told the publication that Nelson Mullins is the perfect firm for his team, as it has a better understanding of the middle-market in Latin America and Brazil than peer firms. "A lot of clients don't stick very well with other large law firms with the fee structures and client service," Hwu said.
